Visiting my lovely love

A few weeks back I had the chance to visit my always awesome friend Ak, also known as the love of my life, in San Francisco. It had been a whole year since I saw her last so I really wanted to hang out with her craziness (and because it was her birthday weekend).

I took Muni by myself for the very first time to get to her place and as usual I was sort of panicking - I didn't want to end up somewhere totally unknown- so I studied the map for like 30 minutes to make sense of where I was going. Looking at the map really payed off because within minutes I was giving Ak a big birthday hug and lots of kisses hahaha. After arriving we had some some Mimosas and headed to Dolores Park for a day party. The whole day and night were so much fun, I meet some cool people and even got treated to some Sushi at Osaka Sushi in the Castro. Definitely a good time.

 Taking Muni...

My Lovely and I... and Brutus. Lol.

Best churro EVER! "Donde esta el churro?" says Dora.

This guy cracked us up... I need his shirt.

Gina, Ak and I... party hopping.

PARTY PEOPLE!

If we all threw our problems into a pile, we would happily take ours back.

So true...

Spanish Motherf@*%#r, Do You Speak It?

Lately I've been having a little bit of trouble speaking Spanish -which is embarrassing, since Spanish is my first language. When I mean "a little bit of trouble" I mean it takes me a while to start speaking it perfectly. After a few minutes I get into it; the "uhms", the "ahms" and the spanglish disappears (some people have told me that I sound so "proper" and very news anchor like) so I decided I'll speak more of it whenever I have a chance. So to all my friends, be prepare, I'll make you practice your Spanish as well :)

Being able to speak another language is amazing, not to mention very helpful... and very sexy hahaha. I also know a bit of French, and by that I mean; I know how to order a ham sandwich with cheese and a water bottle. So if I were ever to go to France, I don't think I'll die of dehydration or starve myself, that has to count for something right? ;)

June in a nutshell.

This month has been kinda busy, specially towards the end. Here are some of the highlights and basically my favorite events.

  • Trivia Night at Bistro Sabor; Gay pride edition.
This was our first time going to Bistro Sabor in Napa, ever and it was really fun. At first we were just going to sit around and watch everyone play but people convinced us to form a team and participate. Some of the question were hard and others were simple. Halfway through the rounds our team sat in 14th place (out of 18 teams) but after a Golden Girls round and some a few easy question, our team caught up and took 4th place. That was definitely a surprise :) Did I mention I had Flan de Coco? Delicious.

  • Britney Spears' Femme Fatal Tour.
I had the lucky break to get tickets for the opening night of her tour, after many, many -and I do mean many- failed attempts calling the radio station to get free tickets. The show was good - a lot better than her Circus Tour I'd say. Nicki Minaj opened the show and as expected I sang along to "Super Bass". Her act was really fun, I'd only wished she had sang more -I guess I'll have to go see her whenever she goes on her solo tour.

My favorite Britney performances were; "How I Roll", "I'm A Slave 4 U", "Gimme  More", "... Baby One More Time", "S&M", her cover of  Madonna's "Burning Up", "Trouble For Me", "(Drop Dead) Beautiful", "I Wanna Go" and of course "Till the World Ends"

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take pictures because the security told us that cameras weren't allowed and so, I had to take my camera back to the car. My friend Liz and I did take some pictures with her iPhone but they didn't come up as good as we'd hoped they would.

The whole show was very entertaining and high energy. She had us dancing pretty much the whole time, so that was fun.

There's the stage :)

  •  Lunch with a friend in SF.
A couple of Mondays ago I had some errands to do in S.F so I asked a friend -that I had not seen in months- to come and have lunch with me. I took him to Nordstrom's Cafe Bistro where they have this amazing Bistro Club sandwich served with seasoned fries and olive dip -my mouth just watered, no lie. Hahaha

Lunch was great, we talked about the things we were doing this summer and our plans for the upcoming months among other things. Time flew by too quickly to be honest, but we definitely caught up with each other :)

  • S.F Pride '11
This year was really low key for me. I invited my dear friend Mia to come -this was her first pride- and of course our awesome friends Jesus and Evlyn. On Sunday morning Mia and I went to see the parade and met up with another friend of ours, Jenny. The parade started kinda slow so we were only there for an hour or so, we decided to eat something and walk around Civic Center instead. We danced for what seemed the longest time in the techno/dance section and we did some walking around. Needless to say, we were oh so tired. We all had lots of fun.

My outfit this year.

POPUSA!!!

Can't forget Stella Artois :)

Definitely a fun month, looking forward to the rest of summer. Cheers! ^

Shaking this feeling off

Lately I've been feeling so... restricted, limited and like I'm coming off short on everything I set out to do. Ah, I don't know how to explain it. It feels as if something is hanging onto me, grasping tightly and won't let me break free.

I haven't been writing anything, haven't taken any pictures, haven't had a full-feeling conversation. It is always the same. The faces, the sounds, the sights... I have become so uninspired. Life seems too serious, monotone at times. Are this the signs of adulthood? Or have a fallen into some kind of temporary depression?

It seems like I'm becoming a bit too bland for my taste, like I'm popcorn without butter or a cupcake without frosting (Uhmmm cupcakes!)

All I know is that I need to shake this feeling off ASAP, it's not ideal.

Halloween 2010

This year for some odd reason I decided to stay in for Halloween... what made me change my mind? I can't say exactly. But that doesn't mean I completely went M.I.A for the night. I actually went to see my grandparents and brought them bags of candy so they could hand them out to kids, but Grandma didn't want to because she was "scared of the monsters..." Oh she is so cute, bless her heart!

After that, I went over to my friend Franky's house to watch some baseball and hang out with a few more friends. We all open a bottle of champagne and ate some chocolate cake (you can't say no to chocolate cake... at least I can't). Once the game was over we played Just Dance 2, sitting there watching Jeanette and Franky mimic the dance moves brought all to hysteric laughter. It was priceless :) Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures or videos but you can trust me when I say it was funny. And that was all I did for Halloween... overall it was a pretty entertaining night.

I did take some pictures of my dog in his Halloween costume... yes, I dressed my dog.... and I paraded him around for a bit :p He is such a trooper.

Pirate Chico.

I couldn't help it... Hahaha

Childhood is Calling.

On Saturday my sister and I were craving some Rice Krispie Treats and so, we decided to make some :) We went to our local grocery store and bought everything that was needed according to the recipe. I made an executive decision and replaced the regular marshmallows for marshmallow creme (which is basically the same thing and I just liked eating it with my finger lol)

The whole thing was a fun mess, the cereal was everywhere and the marshmallow creme got all over our hands. What can I say, the whole time we felt like we were on the Rice Krispies commercial hahahaha. Our treats came out pretty good if I do say so myself... then again we only used two ingredients. :)

I told you it was a mess :)

My hand ran into her face... ha!

Yummy!

Only I...

I've been using a temporary ATM card since Friday (I lost/left mine at a restaurant) and today I peeled off the sticker that was on top of the card and guess what was under it. The freaking words "Instant ATM Card"... Urg!!. If only I had thought of peeling the darn sticker from the beginning, it would have saved myself a lot of trouble and embarrassment.

I guess that's what I get for being clueless hahaha.

Lo que sera sera.

Over the weekend I mentioned something to someone that I had only thought about once... Well it has been four days and I've had several dreams about such topic. Could this be a mare coincidence or "a sign"? Uhmm... :)

They say change is good...

This whole week I've been pretty busy moving from Napa to somewhere between American Canyon and Vallejo. Finally I'm all settled in and I'm oh so tired. Eventhough Napa is 15 minutes away, I already miss it. I spent my teens and a few years of my early twenties there. I made a lot of  friends and memories... had a couple of special places where I liked to run to and just sit there and ponder. I'm still going to visit but it won't be the same. Everyone says change is good and I'm open to it, I guess I'll just need some time to get used to the new place. Change brings new opportunities, so we'll see how that goes. :)

November will be mine.

November will me my month, I don't care what happens then but November will be the month I'm back.

I had my ortho appointment today and its been confirmed, my braces will be gone this November! :) That's right! No more braces for me.  I'm extremely ecstatic to know I'll be free from those wire pain-causing THINGS.

The reason why I say I'll be "back" is due to the lack of confidence my braces have cause me... Don't get me wrong, I have good confidence now, but I just haven't been myself entirely ever since I got them on almost two years ago.  One can ask any of my close friends and they'll tell you how my personality has change.  At times I feel self-conscious and uncomfortable in social gatherings, but then I remember how it's just temporary AND how lucky I am to be able to improve my smile then I feel much better.

Yes, I was hoping my braces would be off by my birthday(in October) but November is fine by me :D One extra month never hurt anyone, right!? Plus I will be able to eat ANYTHING I want.... like corn on the cob, hard candy, apples... oh man! the list goes on and on hahaha.

All in all,I'm so excited to complete this process.  So everyone better watch out, I'll be back with a bang and you will feel my presence.  I guarantee it :)

A little something that caught my eye...

Just because I can doesn't mean I should, but just because I shouldn't doesn't mean I won't...

What you missed

Ok, so I know I haven't posted anything lately but I have an excuse... Let me tell you guys about my last couple of weeks.

Things ended with who I though was a keeper... I would tell you every single JUICY detail but I'm a gentlemen and it's just not worth it Lol I did a lot of self searching and I'm more than content with what I found about myself.

I've also been on a couple of mandates with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while. We watched "Death at a Funeral" and let me tell you, we were laughing so hard it hurt our stomachs (if you haven't seen this movie I say you go watch it) We also watched "Avatar" and it was amazing... I'm sad I didn't go watch it in 3D but oh well! It felt great to reconect with good old friend and just hang out.

This past weekend Mia and I spent it in Berkeley with our fellow plastic friend Jesus and our new friends Evlyn, Lupe and Edgar who invited us to one of their fraternity and sorority events. We arrived in Berkeley on Saturday afternoon and went to Tako Sushi to grab something to eat before the show. Aftershock 2 was the name of the show and consisted of different sororities and fraternities performing their saluts. It was so much fun watching them stroll and salut and just be "owt". Afterwords we partied at their place and had a blast. I hadn't laught so hard in my life, I almost died. Our night concluded by laying on the carpet and watching "Alice in Wondeland". The next morning we woke up and talked about highlights from the previous night, we got ready and went walking around Telegraph. We returned to Jesus' apartment and hung out for a while and listened to music and just danced around. Once again ,we got ready to go to another event and just goofed around. Mia and I had a wonderful time and didn't want to go home. I just want to thank everyone for an amazing weekend and specially thank them for their much needed support... so thank you guys! :)

So thats about it, now I'm off for a much needed run.
Here are some pictures to illustrate my weekend. Enjoy!
