How to trick people into thinking you're good looking.

Mia showed me this yesterday... I laughed so hard it hurt :)

Heartbreaker

Uhmm... sounds familiar hahaha love this song.

MSTRKRFT- Heartbreaker

Remember when I caught your eye
you gave me rainbows and butterflies
we did enjoy our happiness?
when our love was over
I was such a mess

I smiled at you
and you smiled back
that's when I knew
there's no turning back
you said you loved me
and I did too
now though it's over
I still love you

you're in my mind
you're in my heart
I wish I knew right from the start
all my friends said you break my heart
A heartbreaker right from the start

I tried to fight it
I tried so hard
and every day
I pray to god
that you and me were meant to be
but you had another
you had a lover

And now is gone
I don't know why
I feel like crying

just want to die
I can't look at you
and you know why
no, I tried so hard
to catch your eye

you're in my mind
you're in my heart
I wish I knew right from the start
all my friends said you break my heart
A heartbreaker right from the start

you're in my mind
you're in my heart
I wish I knew right from the start
all my friends said you break my heart
A heartbreaker right from the start.

Quote.

"...its either very old school hip-hop or like I'm-going-to-kill-you-bitch! hip-hop." -My friend Liz on how she can't find hip-hop music on XM radio.

An epiphany on dating.

The other day I read a blog and had a little chat that got me thinking, I really don't know how to casual date or dated at all.

I haven't really thought of this until now. I mean, I've been in relationships with the people that I've liked and showed interest in, but is that consider actual dating? Sure there is courtship but is not casual dating, is it? Or at least not when you know you'll end up in a relationship (which would be my case)

By definition casual dating is an interaction between two people who are looking to get to know one another better, without commitments or promises. Just by this alone, I know I haven't done anything like that. I know I rather be in a relationship but  it might be a nice change to get out there and just meet people, rather than put all my eggs in one basket. This could be a challenge but I have nothing to lose I suppose. Besides, I don't think I'm emotionally available for another relationship at the moment... then again lo que sera, sera.

"You wear them around like you're cooler than me.."

If you know me you probably noticed I wear sunglasses all the time. Well this month I've made it a mission to stop (or at least try) wearing them...

I love sunglasses too much lol and I guess one can say they are my "security blanket". Whenever I'm having a bad day, feel shy or just go outside for a walk, I put on a pair of shades. I like the instant privacy they provide and did I mention they are my favorite accessory? Hahaha.

Another thing is, I like to look at people in the eyes when they are talking to me and I sometimes forget to take them off (I'm used to them, I feel sort of naked without them) not only it's disrespectful but I also think it's unfair on my part.

So far I've relapsed twice lol but I think I can make it... It might be a superficial thing for you, but a kind of important thing for me :)

Childhood is Calling.

On Saturday my sister and I were craving some Rice Krispie Treats and so, we decided to make some :) We went to our local grocery store and bought everything that was needed according to the recipe. I made an executive decision and replaced the regular marshmallows for marshmallow creme (which is basically the same thing and I just liked eating it with my finger lol)

The whole thing was a fun mess, the cereal was everywhere and the marshmallow creme got all over our hands. What can I say, the whole time we felt like we were on the Rice Krispies commercial hahahaha. Our treats came out pretty good if I do say so myself... then again we only used two ingredients. :)

I told you it was a mess :)

My hand ran into her face... ha!

Yummy!

Titanic will sail in theaters again.

James Cameron (yes, the creator of Avatar) will be re-realeasing his 1997 hit Titanic on April 2012, on the 100th year anniversary of the ship's sinking (he directed that too children). But don't think it will be the same old Titanic... the classic  flick will be getting the 3D makeover. That's right, the Heart of the Ocean might hit you in the face this time around lol

I'm excited to watch this, oh I can't wait! :)

Only I...

I've been using a temporary ATM card since Friday (I lost/left mine at a restaurant) and today I peeled off the sticker that was on top of the card and guess what was under it. The freaking words "Instant ATM Card"... Urg!!. If only I had thought of peeling the darn sticker from the beginning, it would have saved myself a lot of trouble and embarrassment.

I guess that's what I get for being clueless hahaha.

Thanks a lot Starbucks!

Last night I went to Starbucks and I was super excited to order my usual (which is the White Berry Blossom Tea) only to find out the coffee giant has discontinued it and won't be carring it any longer. In fact, they have change most of their teas... How can Starbucks do this to me!? I've been drinking the White Berry Blossom Tea for years now. So I ordered the Vanilla Rooibos Tea instead... and I think I've found a new favorite! Hahaha but I'm still sad about my WBB :(

On a different note, when I was ready to pay I found out my ATM card was missing from my wallet and I didn't have cash on me (so I panicked). My friend Michele offered to pay for my stuff but the barista told me it was on the house :) (thank you thank you thank you!!!)  Proof that there're still nice people out there!

I did learn a few things... always carry cash (plastic might fail you sometimes) and ALWAYS check to see if I have everything I need in my wallet. I woud hate myself if this happened to me again... fingers cross it doesn't!

Know + Tell...

The June/July issue of Details magazine arrived yesterday and one of my favorite sections is called "Know + Tell: Numbers, nomenclature, and news for the conspicuously clued-in." Here are a few things from this section.

  • 4 cents:  Amount owed to the government by a Sacramento car wash because of a tax-return error.
2: Number of IRS agents who hand-delivered the letter informing the owner of the debt.

  • 11: Number of years an Egyptian family communicated by pencil and paper after finding a listening device in their aparment. After finally getting specialist to investigate, they discovered that the bug had never worked.

  • 5: Number of years a Michigan man suffering from sinus cancer and an inoperable brain tumor worked at Waltmart before being fired for testing positive for marijuana prescribed to him by his doctor.

  • NotARealThing.com: A website that catalogs the fictional places, products, and organizations created for movies, TV shoes, and other visual works- think Schrute Farms from The Office or Red Apple cigarettes from Pulp Fiction.

Lo que sera sera.

Over the weekend I mentioned something to someone that I had only thought about once... Well it has been four days and I've had several dreams about such topic. Could this be a mare coincidence or "a sign"? Uhmm... :)

Pride '10

As some of you might have heard, San Francisco's 40th Pride Celebration was last weekend (June 26/27) and of course I wanted to be part of the original (and world famous) event :) This year I attended with a great new friend (and by the looks of it, the girl version of me). Evlyn and I just had such an amazing time running around the streets of San Francisco. Here are some highlights of our weekend.

Our celebration started on the 26th having a couple of drink in Berkeley. We made vanilla-lime vodkaritas first (I know, it sounds so weird but they were delicious!) after words we had some chocolate cake shots and finally a bit of wine. We got ready and took Bart to SF. We got to Castro and the Pink Party was in full effect. We walked around for a while pretending to be Italian (I guess saying "scusi" made it easier to walk through the crowd) and after a while we found where the Dj's were playing... like expected, we danced and danced and danced till we got tired. Evlyn and I bumped into some friends and we talked to them for a while... Finally it was time to go back to Berkeley and so we walked to the nearest Bart station. Halfway there we sat in front of a store and wished pedestrians a "happy pride", then out of the blue we started telling them we were from  Minnesota and needed Bart money... we got $5.  The whole night was frantic but full of fun.

The following day we got up at 8am and started getting ready for the parade. Once again, we took Bart which was packed... we had to stand the whole time rubbing elbows with REALLY unpleasant people... one person in particular. We arrived in San Francisco and walked down Market St trying to find a good spot, after a couple of minutes we found a place with a really great view. We watched the parade and cheered EVERY float that we saw, we good a lot of goodies for being so loud and cheerful. Once the parade was over, we headed to the Civic Center where the celebration was taking place. Our first stop was the main stage where we got to see The Back Street Boys perform (I was more of a Nsync fan but was excited to see the BSB too) As soon as their performance ended we walked around trying to find the "techno/ dance" stage, after a while we found it (by accident) and once again as expected we danced and sang our little hearts out. Finally after what seemed like hours on the dance floor we headed back to a Bart station to catch the train to Berkeley.

Since our friends Jesus and Edgar couldn't make the festivities (due to a fraternity event) we decorated their appartment with everything we were given at the parade, including our beads and Pride bracelets :) We also made the boys some vanilla-lime vodkaritas and hung out till we fell asleep.

It was definetely a fun filled weekend. I lost my voice for a couple of days, my feet still kinda hurt and I'm burnt from the sun, but there were no regrets :) Here are some pictures, enjoy!

I want cake!
